I don't believe we'll sign Tomkins but his manager coming out and saying he wants 1 million was nothing other than a ploy to let everyone know he's willing to come to the NRL with a ridiculous statement that would grab the headlines and get people talking.

I'd be surprised if he signs for anything more than 500-600k in the end.

The million dollar figure reported included a $250k transfer fee to Wigan.

I think he will get $700k, for me that's too much.

If we want to sign another back I would go after Locke. When he is fit and confident he is top quality.

Celebrate away lydon. Wasn't having a dig. A lot of rumours and sightings have turned out to be nothing. Ill wait, in no hurry. I watched the kid play a few times and looks very promising. Always good to get a legendary name carried on within the club

Peter O'Sullivan has made it very clear that RTS is being groomed for fullback.

I can't fathom the logic of signing Tomkins. I'll be shocked if it happens.

I am in doubt to Roosters signing him ....but weve been talking to him since last year . I mean the warriors threw a mill at him and nothing.
I personally would get Folau as SKOctopuses replacement
but I rate Tomkins real high.

He can play 5/8 but Maloney has that covered, if SKD keeps playing the way he has been, we need a centre not a fullback.

A big, fast centre who can tackle, and attack.

Hastings doesn't seem to fit that bill.

NRL really needs to introduce the father-son rule alas the AFL. Even if it means allowing for cap concessions.

hastings could be just as much a long-term replacement for maloney as he is a potential fullback (he is only 17 atm and james is going on 27. As for tomkins, Im not sure there is much point in getting tomkins. Id be looking for wighton as a replacement for SKD and Id also pick up a young winger/fullback with mini retiring. Young Kevin Naiqama could be a good option. Lightning quick and can play wing or fullback happily but wouldnt cost an arm and a leg.
